How to navigate your files from the command line (Linux)

You can use the terminal to navigate your file system easily, without typing any command. All you need to do is to install a small utility called nnn.

From the command line:

  • sudo apt install nnn
  • type nnn in the terminal to launch the tool
  • navigate folders and files using the keyboard directional keys
  • press Enter to launch a file using the system's default application
  • leave the tool using the q character
